We were blessed with such a beautiful and peaceful Christmas Eve day... Just some hanging out, baking cookies, a trip to the store and making dinner for Grandma Janine! This entry will contain lots of pictures because Daddy surprised mama with a new camera so I had a lot of fun playing with it!
After a lovely evening of roast, sweet potatoes, broccoli, salad, & bread we got you guys all cozy in your pj's and went to midnight mass at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. It was such a beautiful mass with our new Bishop Jose Gomez. I LOVE midnight mass and this one is particularly beautiful with the lights & gorgeous choir! Also I just love how eclectic the group ends up being young, old, wealthy, poor, homeless, and just downright strange looking! Pretty much what I assume heaven will look like! When Mass begun and the priests processed with the incense to O Come All Ye Faithful, I couldn't help but cry! I can only imagine what it must have felt like for Mary to hold that sweet brand new baby in her arms and know what He was going to suffer and bring to the world! Brings me to tears now just thinking about it!
When we first got to the Cathedral (an hour and a half early) I thought, "Oh man what were thinking trying to bring a 2 month old and a 20 month old to mass at MIDNIGHT!" You guys were both squirming and than escalated to flat out crying and I thought my plans were very flawed, but than the choir began singing carols and you both were entranced! Alleluia! You both ended up falling asleep and sleeping like angels until morning! Merry Christmas!! Present time!
We had to wake you up Z, but once you saw what Santa brought you, you woke right up!
Than the Christmas day Chaos began :) First stop Uncle Steve's and Aunt Janet's house.
Time for Stop number 2! Open house at the Mowery's house.. More presents for you both!
We attempted to get a shot of "Grandma Red" with the babies... we weren't very successful!
Than last stop... Grandma Janine's for dinner and present extravaganza! Grandma's house on Christmas very much resembles a toy store!!
Midnight mass the night before was hard on daddy...
The most presents EVER!
Needless to say between all the neat stuff Grandmother and Pa brought you for Christmas last weekend and all the gifts you got from everyone on Christmas weekend, you are both extremely LOVED! Well it was a long and tiring weekend so Merry Christmas and hopefully we will keep the joy, love, and laughter going until next Christmas! Goodnight!
Love,
Mama
