So it has been an interesting week so far! Monday night started out great with our "Hey Boo" party...
Janet, B, & Hannah came over to watch this documentary on one of my ALL TIME favorite books & movie- To Kill A Mockingbird! I am so in love with Atticus Finch, he is such an amazing character I wish he would have been real and had written a parenting book! It was different reading the book this time ( I just finished reading for I think the 8th time) as a parent I saw Atticus Finch in a whole new light! Such a strong man with an amazing gift as a father! Teaching his children these lessons and ways of the world all while maintaining a perfect balance of admiration, adoration and fear/respect for him that I hope we can instill in you guys. I hope we can convey this feelings in all our children not just for us as your parents, but also for God! The book is truly amazing and it was such an interesting documentary. Harper Lee wrote the book for her father based on her father and her childhood. She conveyed so much wisdom and strength mixed with humor and tears, won a Pulitzer prize and never wrote again.... I wish she would have!
Anyways everyone came over I made some pizzas we ate some cookie dough and they spent the night a great night if I do say so myself!
The next morning Zelie you threw up for the first time and we were both a little freaked out... I got you in the shower and you seemed to feel alot better. By afternoon time you seemed fine back to your normal "popcorn devouring" self....
| Little Z sporting her new Light Up Twinkle Toes that are 3 sizes too big so they will fit you next summer, but it doesn't seem to matter to you! |
We spent some time with Grandma because she hadn't seen you guys in about a week and she gave Z some sweet rockstar glasses.... everyone had to try them out... my family is so cool..... ahem....
Dealing with sick kids is no fun, neither of you has a te4xt book illness per say, but I can tell nobody is feeling their normal selves... we are experiencing an excessive amount of snuggling, whining, and sleeping.... including dad! Despite all the yuckies going around we did make it to a family funeral today. Dad's great Aunt Rose Mary Benz was laid to rest this morning at 93 years old. It was so awesome seeing all these children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family and friends show up to honor this long wonderful life. I myself had only met Rose a few times at the Benz family picnics in Tehachapi, but I wanted to pay my respects and attend her funeral and rosary. While watching the picture slide show at the rosary I started thinking about life in general. It is so bizarre how many people there are in the world and how little the bubbles we live in are. Here is this woman I have never really known and she went to school, had good friends, got married to the love of her life, brought sweet babies home from the hospital, buried her son, buried her husband.... all the things the mean so much to us as individuals and we see only our own little lives, but everyone goes through these things. Everyone Lives! I know it sounds mundane, but it really got me thinking alot about how much of a difference we can really make in this world that will hopefully benefit us in the next! Ok I am pretty sure I am rambling so I will stop. Rest in Peace Rose! May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace! Amen!
Love,
Mama
