Witnessing history!

Well kids today we witnessed history! You guys sat and watched with me as we watched our faithful servant Pope Benedict XVI resign and say his final farewell as the successor of St. Peter! Something that has not happened in 600+ years!

We live in a crazy time and sometimes it causes me to worry about bringing you guys into the world the way it currently is, but your dad and I know that you are here for a reason! Dad always reminds me that Jesus told us we would be mocked and persecuted just for believing in Him and I am honored to do so. I am so honored to have been blessed with meeting this humble servant! He blessed us, our married life, and any children we may bring into the world! So you guys are blessed too! One of the most amazing days of our lives! Such a gift now more than ever!

As we watched his farewell this morning I couldn't help, but tear up! I have such a deep love for my faith that I know is because of the love I was raised with by Pa and Grandmother and I pray every day to instill that same passion and love of our Lord and the Catholic Church in you guys!
I am not a very good writer so I would ramble on too much longer, but remember this kids, God loves us so much. We are here to honor and serve Him, it won't make you popular, it might even bring you suffering and pain throughout your lives, but it will be so rewarding in the end! Always stay close to Jesus and His Mother! They will NEVER turn their backs on you!
At the end of the news coverage this morning (unfortunately I only had CBS to watch:/) they interviewed a Monsignor who worked closely with Pope Benedict and he said something that I really liked and I think, although simple, speaks volumes to what God is calling us to in our lifetimes! He said that once the Pope told him,
"Only things done with true humility will leave a lasting impression!"
How true! I pray that I am able to do even my most menial tasks with humility!
Thank you so much for your leadership, example, love, faith, and sacrifice for our Church Papa! You will forever hold a special place in my heart & prayers!

Love,
Mama
